How do you spell whisky ? Well it depends on where you’re from. There really is no right answer to this. So it also depends on who you believe invented it too. The Scots lay a strong claim to whisky, but this is often contested by the Irish.

One of the leading Scottish whisky brands
But this is where it gets a little more complicated. In Scotland it is spelt WHISKY. However in Ireland it is WHISKEY.
North America also produces whisky too of course, but even here there is a divergence of opinion. In America they favour the Irish version and call theirs WHISKEY. So it is Bourbon whiskey. Finally in order to be different perhaps the Canadians spell their drink WHISKY like the Scots !
Oh, it’s a dizzying world in the complicated whisky making business !
Our advice to help out is to pour equal measures of Scotch whisky and Stones green ginger wine, and there you have Whisky Mac a fine mixed drink. One of the best mixed drinks in fact right up there with Gin and Tonic, Vodka and Russchian and Campari and bitter lemon. Have fun !
