4 of the easiest cocktails to make at home are here for you. People often ask us what the easiest cocktails are to make at home and whether you need a cocktail shaker, a large supply of ice and elegant glasses – oh yes and parasols too. The short answer is no of course ! Cocktails can and should be what you want them to be.
If you want to experiment with some new flavour combinations for your guests – or you simply want to try some new ones at home on a Friday or Saturday night these 4 are all great and simple. We’ll add a picture of them soon.
Rusty Nail - just put equal measures of scotch whisky and Drambuie (or the alternative Glayva.) Looks best in whisky tumbler, but a great drink. No need for ice or shaking, just a gentle stir.
Sicilian Kiss – equal measures of Amaretto and Southern Comfort. A smooth drink where each flavour balances out the other. No need for ice, but serve in a tumbler.
B&B - takes its name from it’s 2 ingredients : Benedictine and Brandy. Again a good blend. Try it and tell us what you think at fun@cocktailshakerboys.co.uk. Slightly warming so a good cocktail or mixed drink for Winter especially Christmas.
Brave Bull - only discovered by us relatively recently. It mixes equal measures of Tequila (we’d opt for Gold tequila given the choice) and Kahlua. Adding a liqueur to a spirit again works well as the Kahlua (or Tia Maria) takes the fire out of the spirit but the Tequila gives the drink a bit more depth and stops it being too sweet and sickly.
Try these 4 this Christmas and let us know what you think of them. Any other dead easy ones you come across in the meantime and can recommend – let us know.
