llyThe Jam Doughnut that we offer as part of some of our cocktail menus is a popular choice. Furthermore it is an in-house creation. Developed by the Cocktail Shaker Boys. We have 2 versions of it but we have now settled on one.
Clearly if you’re going to call a cocktail the Jam Doughnut it must have 2 key qualities! First it must have a BIG hit of raspberry. Tick. Second the other thing we all associate with jam doughnuts is that sensation of getting sugar on your lips. So we’ve sorted that too. Tick. We rim the Martini glass with sugar. That way as you sip your cocktail, you inevitably get the sugar granules on your lips. Like you rim the glass with salt for a Margarita, so we rim your glass with sugar for the Jam Doughnut. You will find that this cocktail is sweet. Again this is designed in. It should be.
Jam Doughnut – the recipe
If you want the full recipe feel free to drop us a note at our contact us page. The ingredients we use are
- Vodka
- Raspberry vodka
- creme de framboise
- raspberry syrup
We prefer the fruit based raspberry vodka, rather than the ones with raspberry flavourings. So our preferred brand is Two Birds but they have recently ceased trading so we will look for an alternative quality product.
This is a popular cocktail and yes it is sweet. So you wouldn’t want 5 cocktails on your menu like this. But that’s the fun of having a varied cocktail list. We put together a menu to suit you and the audience. We like to ensure that you have a range of styles, flavours and even colours on your cocktail list. So for instance if you have the Jam Doughnut on your cocktail menu, we probably wouldn’t offer the Cosmopolitan. They both look similar colours and they’re both served in Martini glasses. It also avoids confusion too in having multiple cocktails which look the same.
Apart from this beauty we have many other cocktails we can offer you. Have a browse of our cocktail menu page. Hopefully it will tantalise your taste buds. We have many of our own creations on there. We enjoy developing and testing new cocktails. For our head mixologist this is part of the fun. We then like sharing them with guests of course. We may just introduce you to your new favourite cocktail. It’s happened before!
Alongside these ‘soon-to-be-classics’ you will find many of the old classics as well as many modern ones. So a wide range. And don’t forget the mocktails too. We offer a range of non-alcoholic options as we appreciate that not everyone at your party will be drinking. And you don’t want to leave them sat in the corner clutching a coke or lemonade. We ensure that there are some really interesting alcohol-free options.
