London Cocktail Week 2015 is the source of some great ideas and some great cocktails.
Now of course I don’t sip the range of cocktails for the fun of it. Oh no. It’s all about R&D. It’s trying some new flavour combinations, and some new ideas. Then some of these find their way into our menus and ideas to offer you. Ensuring we’re ahead of the game means we can offer you new and interesting cocktails. And of course all this sipping involves meeting some interesting and talented bartenders. Mostly this year they seemed to be Italian. Not that that is relevant to anything, they just were!
London is the centre of the cocktail world
London is the centre of cocktails and cocktail making in the UK and so it’s good to go and ‘check out the scene.’
Gin is still big, but all the spirits were well represented, and I had some interesting libations, including whiskey in the Re-Fashioned at Gaucho which is always an interesting ingredient. Whisky and brandy are generally the least numerous in cocktails.
However when we’re putting together a menu for our clients we like to include one of the dark spirits as many people do like the full-on flavours that they bring to the party. Not that we’re likely to add them to any hen party menu any time soon – but nevertheless. We’ve posted individual recipes for the cocktails we tried over on our Facebook page. We also tweet regularly with details of new and old cocktails we’re trying, so if cocktails is your thing, feel free to follow us on Twitter.
Or if you just want to know what great cocktails we can bring to your party, drop us a line to fun@cocktailshakerboys.co.uk or simply call us on 01858 898154.
