One of the fun bits for you and us is selecting your menu. Once you’ve contacted us and we’ve given you a quote – you will then decide if you want to go ahead. Many people have over the last 13 years plus so you’re in good company!
Putting together a cocktail menu
Once you’ve given us the nod the next stage of planning starts. Putting together your cocktail menu. Generally this will start with us selecting a suggested menu for you. Our offering is based around our 5+2 menu : that’s a selection of 5 alcoholic cocktails and 2 non-alcoholic mocktails. We like to make sure that everyone is catered for and that your menu fits the audience. So before we put together some ideas for you, we’ll check what the mix will be at your party – the age profile and the female : male split. Clearly a cocktail menu for a gentleman’s 70th birthday for instance will be quite different to a menu for a group of hens in their early 20s.
Hen parties
A hen party menu is more likely to feature gin and vodka heavily and probably some fizz. Additionally Pornstar Martinis are a popular choice for hen parties. However in contrast if you’re putting together a party for your dad or your parents golden wedding anniversary we have some other great suggestions. Dark rum, cognac, whisky, bourbon and selected sherries all make excellent cocktail ingredients.
Can I choose my own cocktails?
Yes of course you can. We offer a menu as we know what our clients like and we can make sure that your menu is balanced. i.e. it has a range of base spirits and a range of cocktail styles. Something for everyone. From brother-in-law Paul to your sister Sarah. But of course if there are particular cocktails you want included for the birthday girl for instance of course we can include it.
Consider something different too
We know that you may be tempted to try all the ol’ favourites. To play it safe. Not take any chances. Cosmopolitan, Mojito, Espresso Martini are all great cocktails but you’ve had them before. We like to encourage you to try new flavours & ingredients. As well as being a band of brothers who like to mix, muddle, shake & stir your cocktails some of our team are keen mixologists too. In other words they like working on new and reconstructed classic cocktails. Our head mixologist even has his own blog. Middle England Mixologist.
To help you with this we have our menu page here on the website. Look at some of the new ideas. So why not trust us to offer you something new? Maybe we can introduce you to your new favourite cocktail. Some of the ingredients we use include; apricot, peach, lavender, liquorice, gooseberry, rhubarb, cucumber, cardamom, coriander, pear, blackberry and apple.
We love seeing clients try new things and enjoy them. At one party a few years ago the party host came up to us part way through the party to say that the Cosmopolitan was great but that the Strawberry Martini was better. One of our in-house creations. So our creations go head to head with the classics – no problem! Which makes us feel a teeny bit proud of course.
What’s next?
So go on take a leap of faith and give us the opportunity to put together a menu for you – hopefully with some new creations. At this stage you’ve probably already enquired but if you haven’t and like the sound of it hop across to leave us a few details
