Grasshopper and Green Apple Martini are 2 of the most popular cocktails we serve. They also generate some of the greatest interest. We may serve as many Tequila Sunrises but these 2 are ones that people get really enthusiastic about and keep coming back for more! Suits us!
So if you have any of these ingredients – this is how you can put them to good use. And if you find a strong liking for either or both of these drinks and you spend too much on them – don’t blame us – right ?! We’re just offering suggestions. Here are the recipes ;
Grasshopper
2 mrs creme de menthe
2 msrs white creme de cacao
2 msrs whipping cream
Add all these 3 ingredients to your cocktail shaker with a reasonable amount of ice, and shake. Pour into a Martini glass – that’s the one pictured here and you have one delicious drink. Just add a little grated dark chocolate on top and Bob is your proverbial uncle. We defy you to stop at one!
At our parties the Grasshopper typically gets described as liquid aero. That can’t be a bad recommendation can it?!
Our other classic is one we got from the Nigella Express cook book. Although she offers either vodka or a gin base, we always make it with gin as it is a more robust flavour and offsets the strong zingy apple flavours well. It is quite heady though, and as our cocktail shaker boy Steve describes it “it’s not one for the faint-hearted!” Fair comment – though it’s one of the cocktail shaker boys favourites and even the ladies in our lives are known to down the odd one or 2 of these of a weekend evening. This is what you do ;
Green Apple Martini
2 msrs gin
2 msrs apple sourz
1 msr Monin green apple syrup
Again, this is easy to make, just add all 3 ingredients to a cocktail shaker with some ice, shake and serve in a Martini glass. And if you want to push the boat out, just add a slice of apple to the side of the glass – simples!
Enjoy these 2 cocktails and let us know what you think at fun@cocktailshakerboys.co.uk
We look forward to serving plenty more of these in Leicester, Market Harborough, Northampton, Kibworth, Lutterworth, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Oakham, Uppingham or indeed wider parts of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.
