Long Island Iced Tea most asked for cocktail
The Long Island Iced Tea is an ever popular cocktail. Especially at a 40th birthday party the Cocktail Shaker Boys ran in Autumn in Market Harborough. The September party was booked in Harborough’s old Grammar School.
The Long Island Iced Tea is strongly alcoholic, and really helped get the party started ! Also on offer were the classic Pina Colada. Plus the Mimosa. A great sparkly cocktail containing Grand Marnier, orange juice then topped up with Prosecco. Plus one of our personal favourites the Grasshopper. It is a great blend of cream, chocolate liqueur (creme de cacao) and creme de menthe.
How to make the perfect Long Island Iced Tea
However given the success of the Long Island Iced Tea, we thought we’d share the recipe with you.
Start with a long straight sided glass known as a Highball. Into your cocktail shaker goes one measure of vodka, light rum (Bacardi is fine), blanco tequila and half a measure of Cointreau plus half a measure of lemon juice.
Shake the mixture up with some ice in your cocktail shaker, and then pour into your glass. Finally top up with coke and you have one popular cocktail. Straws and a parasol (if you want the whole 80s thing) and the job’s a good ‘un !
